eHealth 2006 High Level Conference and Exhibition Welcome
message from the Spanish Minister of Health and Consumer Affairs, the
Austrian Federal Minister for Health and Women and the Andalucian
Regional Minister of Health
The Spanish Government and the Andalucian Regional Government, in conjunction with the Austrian Presidency of the European Union and the European Commission, will organise the fourth edition of the eHealth High Level Conference. It is our pleasure to announce the celebration of this event in Malaga between the 10 and 12 of May, 2006. This year edition is devoted to review and to analyze the role that eHealth plays in the progress of Health policies in the Europe of the regions. The advance of eHealth applications and projects and the wider level of implementation along the member states oblige policy makers and other stakeholders to assess carefully future developments, taking into account the need to build seamless informational networks across borders in regions and countries. eHealth today enables the adequate support to any defined health policy regarding citizens, care delivery or managerial needs. eHealth developments are improving the right of access to quality healthcare of the European citizens, regardless of their personal condition or geographical location, facilitating mobility, allowing the election of the appropriate health resource in a framework of equal opportunity and knowledgeable participation. Along the eHealth 2006 Conference there will be the opportunity to participate in the strategic seminars prepared with high level experts to get answers on crucial issues, as well as to have the chance of in-depth reviews of successful implementations paying particular attention to the lessons learned. The different tracks and sessions of the Conference will favour the dissemination of results of research and technological innovation and allow the exchange of eHealth experiences between the various European countries and regions, facilitating the definition of health and technology strategies and policies. There are planned several onsite hands-on visits to ongoing eHealth projects with the aim of bringing near real life the conference participants. We would like to offer the Conference as a meeting point for Ministers and all those other actors involved in eHealth, to examine and to share ideas contributing to the advancement of our countries and regions in its way towards high-quality citizen-oriented sustainable Health services in the Europe of the 21st century. We look forward to have the opportunity to build this dream together with you and all the participants in the eHealth 2006 High Level Conference in Malaga. ![]() |
